OUR COMPETITION
Our Competition
Scorpions Volleyball runs a structured, indoor volleyball competition designed for players who want consistent games, strong standards, and a great social atmosphere, without unnecessary complexity.
Season Format
Our competitions run across the school term at Meridian State College Sports Hall. The summer season begins in early February and concludes in late June. Winter begins in July and concludes late November.
There are no games scheduled during school holidays, giving players a predictable, well-paced season with time to recover and plan around breaks.
Game Night Details
- Day: Monday nights
- Warm-up: From 6:00 PM
- Games: Approximately two matches per team each night
- Duty: One shared duty per night
- Finish: Around 8:15 PM
- Format: 6-a-side indoor volleyball
The schedule is designed to maximise court time while keeping nights efficient and enjoyable.
Who It’s For
The competition is best suited to intermediate to advanced players who enjoy consistent, competitive matches. The minimum age is 15, unless the player is assessed as having a higher skill level. We aim to keep matches competitive, fair, and enjoyable for everyone on court.
Teams & Registration
You don’t need a full team to register. Players can sign up:
- As an individual
- With a friend
- As a full team
All players must register independently. Solo players are placed into teams where possible to ensure balanced competition.
Fees & What’s Included
We operate on a simple, upfront season fee:
- Adults: $220
- Students (Uni & TAFE): $180
Your season fee includes:
- All game fees
- Player registration
- Insurance coverage
Fees must be paid before games commence in Week 1 of the season. This is a season-based competition, not pay-per-game, so we encourage players to attend regularly or arrange a fill-in when unavailable.
Competition Culture
Scorpions Volleyball is competitive, friendly, and respectful. Players are expected to show good sportsmanship, support referees and duty teams, and contribute to the smooth running of the night. At the end of each season, we celebrate with prizes and recognition for teams and players.
